At Refuge Private Home Care Services, we believe that life is richer when we’re connected—to people, to purpose, and to the community around us. Our Community Access Individual (CAI) services are designed to help individuals with developmental, intellectual, or physical disabilities actively participate in the world beyond their homes—fostering independence, confidence, and meaningful engagement.
What is Community Access Individual?
Community Access Individual is a one-on-one support service focused on helping individuals build social and life skills through involvement in community activities. Our goal is to support each person’s ability to live as independently and actively as possible, while enjoying the freedom to explore their interests and passions.
How We Support Through CAI:
- Social Integration & Engagement
We accompany individuals to community events, recreational outings, or social activities that encourage interaction and inclusion. - Skill Development in Real-Life Settings
Whether it’s using public transportation, handling money, shopping, or navigating local services, we provide hands-on guidance and encouragement. - Hobby & Interest Exploration
Support in discovering and participating in activities like art, music, sports, volunteering, or continuing education. - Community Navigation
Assistance learning how to move confidently through their neighborhood, from visiting libraries and parks to participating in clubs or support groups. - Confidence Building & Advocacy
Helping individuals learn how to communicate their needs, make choices, and advocate for themselves in social or community settings. - Empowerment Through Connection
Our CAI services are always person-centered, built around the goals, interests, and needs of the individual. At Refuge, we match each client with a compassionate, trained support professional who not only provides guidance but also becomes a trusted partner in growth and exploration.
Let us help your loved one step confidently into their community—with support that’s rooted in respect, compassion, and the belief that everyone deserves to feel seen, valued, and included.
